Hi all,
I'm in the process of becoming a registered Ofsted Nanny looking after 2 children from sept after school only from around 3pm-6pm 5 days a week.
My parents has informed me that her workplace does a childcare voucher scheme which she uses for the little boys nursery at the moment but she will be happy to pay to me for the childcare cost. Her husband also receive the vouchers. I have no idea how they work what to do any advise would be great. Just to clarify I do hold a level 3/4/5/6 in childcare a first aid certs and current DBS. Thanks in advance Nx

If you are in England:
You need a DBS which is on the update service. Your existing check may not be.
www.ofsteddbsapplication.co.uk is the site to use to get a new check. OfstedP is the code needed and a nanny in Ofsted speak is a Home Childcarer.
Once you have that, register online with Ofsted via the Ofsted online portal.

You will need to have nanny insurance, this can be arranged after completing the Ofsted registration. There are various insurers.
The process can take several months, so get started now. Costs are roughly, 103 for Ofsted, 13 for update service, 52 for DBS. nanny insurance is around 70.

Once you have your Ofsted registration certificate, then you register with the voucher companies as a provider. That may involve sending them copies of some paperwork, whilst some won't ask for anything other than your Ofsted reg number.

You complete bank details so the voucher company can pay into your bank account. Parents authorise voucher payments, it can take a few days from voucher being issued to it appearing in your bank account.

Generally they're £243 a month but it comes into your bank as normal then she would pay anything above that herself.

I'm with kiddivouchers I think they're called

juneybean · 18/03/2015 13:50

Sorry that's £243 per boss so £486

zumba72 · 18/03/2015 13:58

Yes but they pay you the rest directly to you. So if I earn £800 a month I get £486 from the voucher company and £314 from my bosses :)
