Buggy dilema

Hi.

I'm sure this has been asked before but most of the posts date back a few years so trying to get some fresh ideas.

There's possibility that I might take on a 12 month old. I already look after a 13 month and a 21 month old.

My problem will be transporting them in a buggy. I don't really want to go down the triple side by side route as I don't think I could manoeuvre it. The oldest is a pretty good walker.

Any ideas, suggestions or words of wisdom?

Double and a buggy board?

Jinxxx · 11/03/2015 16:21

Valco Trimode, ABC or T3 triples?

mrsnewfie · 11/03/2015 16:23

Thanks. Been looking at the ABC and the T3. Haven't heard of the other one.

Yes, double and buggy board is my main thought.

No avoiding a triple as all children too small for a buggy board or too big for slings/backpacks. I have a mcclaren triple side by side and it's very easy to push even fully laden. But only good for walking a to b, won't go in shops or houses. I saw a buggy recently that was a tandem double with a platform at the back for eldest to stand or sit on. Probably cost a bomb.

A joovy big caboose it was called I wrote it down in case I needed to remember it.

Oh! Thanks Kathryn! Have looked at double Joovy Caboose pushchairs. Didn't know they did a triple. Not as expensive as the other options.

You can get some really good back carriers. My dd2 is almost 17 months and is still very comfortable being back carried in my connecta

If you like doing lots of walking a triple buggy might be the best option though

KeturahLee · 11/03/2015 18:53

Either of the younger ones are the right size for a sling and I would have thought a 21 month old would be fine on a buggy board. Only issue is if you want them all to nap while out.

schlafenfreude · 11/03/2015 19:10

They're all fine for slings If you get the right one. Double, buggy board and sling under pram.

kathryng90 · 11/03/2015 20:13

Haha I been doing this job too long no way could I push a double with a year old on my back or front! Well no further than the end of the path anyway.

Jinxxx · 11/03/2015 20:22

Buggy boards usually state 30months plus. I wouldn't risk not being insured if you had a little one fall off the buggy board. I also rate Joovy big cabooses, but Valco definitely best.

crymeariverwoo · 11/03/2015 20:39

Buggy boards are for ages 2 to 4. In 3 months time your eldest charge will be old enough to use one. I would probably get a double and a buggy board .

mrsnewfie · 11/03/2015 20:57

Thank you all!

I somehow can't see 5'1" me with a double buggy and a sling! I've also got an unpredictably dodgy back! Haha!

The oldest has been walking confidently from 9 months and has good stamina, so might look into age appropriate buggy boards.

You have given me a few new options to think about so thank you all again!

A good sling carrier like boba 3G would be fine to carry any of those 3. I could comfortably carry my 16kg 3year old up to 2 hrs. I can carry my 16 month old all day no problem.

Someone at our school has a triple she had twins about 15mths after first and it is a jogger style double side by side n has a third seat that clips on front in centre no idea what it's called will have a look
