Childminder - What christmas gift ?

Well I wouln't have thought of this quite yet if the nanny thread hadn't appeared but as it has.

I am going back to work properly in Jan, but the childminder has been doing the odd half day a week to get DS used to her. She is brilliant and he seems to enjoy it there. Also she was very understanding when I pushed back my start date from November to January and didn't want a retainer.

Therefore I want to be generous at christmas time, but not too sure what that equates to. I was thinking of M&S vouchers because she could use these on food or clothing. Is this a good idea, and how much should I go for ?

id rather have a day at a spa or some vouchers for a beauty treatment than m&s vouchers tbh but thats because i never go there so maybe depends on age? im only 24. i think its really nice that you want to get her something.

In the past I have got mine Monsoon vouchers, photoframes, signed cookbooks, and rather bizarre-sounding - a ceramic fruit bowl from a trip abroad. It is beautiful - it's a shame I told the children that it was for their CM as I would have liked to have kept it!

I personally never go to M & S and if she ends up using them on food or lingerie, it's not such a treat!

Money-wise - it depends on how much you want to/can afford.

Just thinking about spa days - it is a lovely thought, but as they look after children all the time, may have a problem getting away.

I know I would like anything that had been thought about! I usually get chocs and flowers

She does beauty treatments in the evening so spa day great idea but probably not for her.

LMGs - not your age, I'd LOVE a spa treatment, a massage or something lovely like that and I'm 30! I admit it would be harder to use it but if I could use it at the weekend then it would be lovely treat, nice to relax after all the busy long days!

Having said that, I'd be happy with anything tbh. Vouchers for children's things would even please me as I love buying new things for the kids
