swapping cars with Nanny and who pays what?

I wonder if anyone has been in the situation before where they swapped cars with their nanny instead of them using their own car for transporting the children?

We are employing a new Nanny to look after our four children come the start of the year but she drives a small 4 seater car. She has said she would be more than happy to swap and use our large 7 seater while she is at work and I would take her car to work, etc. Normally when the nanny uses her car we pay 40p per mile as usual but I'm not sure this would be the same in this case as she's still using my car?

How would it work this way/what have you done in the past? Many thanks

Wouldn't you be better just buying a wee banger of a car for yourself for work and let her have your car. I'm sure it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than leasing

Yeah i second that about a banger, my nurse friends cars have been trashed (parking dings, and scrapes, break ins) at the hospitals so now have bangers. Then you have the 'asset' (as its not going to lose much more money) rather then monthly cost and headache every time it gets scratched. The deposit you would put in for the lease would buy a reasonable run around and you'd still have that money in the car rather then loosing it.

It's rare for nannies to have huge cars big enough to have 4 children and car seats

A lot of nannies I know including myself have cars during working
Hours but a few who don't have an average size car that can get 2 seats in back let alone 3 or 4

Think banger is the way to go and even with buying it and insurance it will costs less theb mileage paid to nanny

Look at smartlease. and lings cars for leading
If your not fussy colour /specific spec you can get some great deals for around 150 a month
With these you put down down 3 month car if whatever the car rental is so ifs its150. Per month then you pay a one off £450 up front & a admin fee of around £150. Then the monthly payments and insurance /petrol

It's normally 10,000 a year and includes tax AA
