Hi,

I'm new to London, and I'm wondering how I should go about finding a nanny?

childcare.co.uk is very good and the £20 to register for a month is a sight cheaper than an agency!

where in London are you?

HopeNope · 04/12/2014 18:18

Greenfizzy, thanks! I'm in East London.

At the very maximum I can only afford £10 p/hour, and no more than that. Am I likely to find something?

£10 net an hour is possible, but that's £13 ish gross

Unlikely to get for £10 gross

Most agencies charge 15/20% of nanny annual wage as a finders fee

10 gross is low for London but it may depend on exact area and if you would accept someone without much experience.

Remember to factor in other costs such as activities, outings, payroll admin and employers NI.

Hi new Londoner,
I am a qualified, experienced nanny. I charge between £8.50 £12.00 ph. I was offered £8.50 with the agency I was with, but am looking at nannying now.
