We are in central ish London. Just looking for some opinions. We have an option to put our younger child into a fantastic nursery setting but the time slots they have available are a bit strange and to keep our own costs down we'd need to fit the nanny around them rather than pay a nanny for lots of time while child is in nursery just to access wrap-around care.
I am thinking about trying to recruit a nanny for something along the following hours, totaling about 26 across the week:
Day 1: 8am-6pm: looking after both DCs to start with, dropping older at school, then later in the day taking young one to nursery (so would then have a couple of hours with no children - we might ask for some errands to be run, preparing tea or whatever), then picking both kids up and doing tea, play, stories etc til we come home.
Day 2: 8am-6pm: looking after DC2 all day. Doing school run morning and afternoon with DC1 and just looking after him before/after school.
Day 3: 2pm-8pm: an hour or so with no children to start, possibly doing some (child-related) food prep/washing putting away/tidying etc. Picking up both kids from school/nursery around 3.30 and looking after them til after both in bed.
Would anyone apply for this sort of job? Are there any agencies that specialise in part time / slightly weird timings that we should speak to?
