Resignation letter

My hours were drastically reduced to half a day once a week. Contract negotiated and they agreed to my terms. However, I am just no longer happy. I don't want to do split days. I have tried it for 6 weeks.
Therefore. Decided to resign. I want to write a nice letter but am a little stuck in how to start. Previous resignation letters were not for nanny jobs.

Dear xxxxxx

Following our previous discussions regarding the change in working hours I thought the new hours would work but having tried it for the past 6 weeks, I feel that it does not suit me.

Therefore it is with regret that I provide you with x weeks notice that I will be leaving as I can not see a way for us to agree working hours that are mutually acceptable.

I will miss the children very much and it has been a pleasure caring for them.

I would be most grateful if you could provide a written reference plus keep in touch so that my future employers are able to contact you for a verbal reference.

I think nicks letter is perfect - but you need to put an actually leaving date on the letter (so that there's no miscommunication).

Don't forget to discuss holidays too as you'll need to be paid for any holidays you're owed, or pay back any extra holiday you've taken.

Hadn't thought of holiday. Worked out I have one day holiday. Result.
Letter all written, just waiting for the day of work.
Thanks guys.
