Any recommendations for companies to provide this?

Ps I mean the insurance that the nanny has, not the employer's liability insurance

I have always used Morton michel but I know there are others.

mrswishywashy · 08/10/2014 09:58

I've always used Morton Michel as well.

Pacey

Morton Michele

Others I know of but not used

NannyInsure
Hayes Parsons

They are all a similar price, though they may have different criteria with regard to qualifications, experience, age.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2014 14:45

Have used Morton Michel for years. Other have started up like pacey but I prefer to go with a well known company

Don't know how good they are if something has happened. Don't know anyone who has needed to claim

Hi,

We offer a nannyinsure policy for £70 - Nannyinsure

Lots of nannies use it as part of the Ofsted Registration criteria.

Has £5m Public Liability and £50,000 personal accident cover.

Happy to answer any questions Smile

nannynick · 08/10/2014 16:43

MortonMichel and NannyInsure are best known insurance arrangers.

NannyTax1 - has anyone ever claimed? Many of us have this insurance but I but guess very few of us has ever had a claim against us covered by the insurance policy.

nannytax1 · 09/10/2014 13:39

We can't discuss that, confidential info I'm afraid Nick!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2014 13:50

surely you can say if a nanny/employer has tried to claim - you are mentioning no names so not revealing confidentiality

nannynick · 09/10/2014 14:04

No anonymised statistics for public liability insurance - is that usual for the insurance industry? AIB produces statistics but they charge for access to most of it.

Why does it cost about the same from all the providers - no varying in risk, unlike other insurance like motor? It seems to be either a case of you get insurance or your don't, rather than varying the premium based on risk.

Happy to answer any questions - hmm, don't think you are actually Grin

nannynick · 09/10/2014 14:24

If the Woodward case happened in the UK, what if anything would liability insurance have covered?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 11/10/2014 00:20

I didn't claim on NannyTax insurance but I certainly wouldn't recommend them...their customer service was shite

I use Morton Michele now and have had no problems with them...friend claimed via MM and had nothing but good things to say

Greenfizzywater · 13/10/2014 13:49

Thanks all for the advice. If this is the same nannytax that does payroll, sorry but your payroll services are so hugely overpriced compared to payefornannies that I'd worry your insurance policy would be the same! Have suggested the morton michael policy.

Morton won't take on nannies without 2 years experience, just as a warning. I used nannyinsure up until this year when I switched to PACEY. NI's provider, Hayes Parsons, left them so I was technically insured by Hayes Parsons not Nannyinsure by the end of it though.

I wanted the membership to PACEY and it happened to come with the insurance, so I waited until my current policy ran out before joining.
