Night Nanny - fees

Hi all

I've been approached about possibly doing a week of night nannying and wondered what others charged for something like this? I've no experience of this but am a registered childminder (since 2005) and have provided overnight care at my own many many times.

Not sure if an hourly rate or set fee is normally charged. This lady is very flexible on the hours so I could get there quite late and leave quite early (.e. maybe 9/10 - 7).

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

I'm also a childminder who does occasional babysitting/night nannying.

I charge £7/hr if it is basically a babysit (i.e child/ren in bed and expected to sleep through) and I can go to bed myself or £11/hr if I am expected to do more, such as feed and put children to bed, stay up or get up at intervals, do changes and feeds etc. Another lady I know charges £70/nt for babysitting, £120 for the babies with feeds etc . HTH.

I wouldn't do it if I was working the next day though.

Thanks for that, very helpful. I'm not currently working otherwise I wouldn't do it as would be too tired! Wink I've been on long term maternity leave and just gradually putting the word out that I'm available to work school hours. I'm doing babysitting and although have a few bookings, I'm wondering if I need to lower my price as currently charging £10 ph. Hadn't even thought about night nannying until this lady contacted me. Now thinking about adding it to my services.

I've been doing some night nannying and have charged £12 hour for a single baby, 7 weeks old at the start with bad reflux and also twins who were 8 weeks old at the start and charged £14 hour for them. Each family had different requirements in start times but with both I finished at 8am, with both family it would be do feeds, wind baby, change nappy and settle back to sleep

Hello depends on if older child and you will sleep or if a waking baby who needs feeding and settling. For a sleeping night £80-£100 for a 7-7 night is normal and for night nanny work if not experienced in that perhaps the guide would be from £8-10/hr up to £15/hr if v experienced.

Enjoy I love my maternity night nanny work

For night nannying with a bb or child who still wakes I charge £15/hour with a minimum of ten hours per night and minimum four nights per week. Obviously I'm self employed and do taxes myself.
