Should I get a nanny to speak her native language or English?

I'm thinking of employing a lovely girl from Slovakia. Her English is ok but by no means perfect. I'm wondering if I should just ask her to speak Slovakian to DD so that DD learns Slovakian and perfect English from me. Btw dh speaks French to dd. Any views?

Depends on whether yhou want you child to speak to you in a language you don't understand. For eaxmple, my neice is bilingual (english and spanish). Whe she was a toddler she used to talk to me in Spanish knowing full well I couldn't understand. Every now and then my sister would have a word about her foul language, which of course I didn't understand. Cheeky little thing.

I dunno, I would say she should speak in ENglish, unless you're going to always get girls from SLovakia to carry it on, otherwise you're going to put both of them through the stress of your dd not understanding & having to start a 3rd language from scratch for something that will only last a relatively short time iyswim.
