Affordable childcare for 3 under 4

Hi, I'm hoping I'm putting this in the right place!

I'm due with my surprise third baby in March.

I'm currently trying to work out if going back to work would be at all affordable for us.

At the moment my eldest 2 are in a nursery, however, this will be unaffordable with 3 even with the 15hrs entitlement for the eldest.

My question is how much realistically would be looking pcm for full time nanny or childminder for 3 (assuming I could find someone!)?

Also, can you use childcare vouchers to pay for a nanny or childminder?

Apologies for the probably simply questions but nursery has worked out fine for us until now and I find myself ignorant of other options!

TIA!

When 3 children under 5 it is cheaper to have a nanny then cm or nursery

Costs vary due to area experience age etc but looking at £10 gross to £14 gross. Higher end for London /kent/exp nanny

On top of that uou have employers ni

Yes you can use ofsted if nanny Is registered - of she isn't then pay for the cost

Things like petrol heating food kitty etc need to be on Top tho guess you would using those yourself anyway of home

Where are you located? Things vary a little between countries in the UK regarding childcare vouchers and in cost terms.
Nanny or childminder are your options, nanny may be cheaper but depends what a childminder includes in their price and location.

You may want to consider best option over a number of years as it could be different once oldest stsrts school and you may not want to change childcare.

Depending where you are you are looking anywhere from £8-£15 gross an hr also nanny experience would affect rate.

A childminder would be £3-£7 an hr per child dependant on area n a variety of other things.

I am east Midlands a nanny generally costs £100 gross for a 10hr day per family and a childminder is £35 a day for a 10hr day per child and nursery £50 a day for 10/11hr day per child.

So in our area for 2-3 children either nanny or childminder is about the same however nanny means being an employer Gavin to pay ni, food, outings, heating etc. Childminder for us Inc food, most outings.

When does your eldest start school? That would mean a reduction in your childcare bill.

As well as financial aspects, keep in mind that a nanny will probably work when children are ill (three children is three times more likely to get bugs etc), if children aren't ready when you need to go to work, nanny will just carry on with morning routine, you would have to drop of children to a cm, dressed, breakfasted, hair brushed etc.

a nanny will be able to get some jobs done for you at home, children's washing, ironing, changing children's beds etc,

I'm not trying to put you off childminders, I am one. But I used to nanny for a family of three and also have three children of my own, and know if I was paying that much for childcare I'd want the most for my money and I think that may be a nanny option with three children to look after.
