Care 2 Learn - anyone dealt with them?

I am a CM caring for a baby of a student parent. The young parent is eligible for the Care 2 Learn funding to cover the cost of childcare while studying.

From past experience I always ask for payment in advance. However, understandably this parent cannot afford to pay me. I agreed to starting childcare assuming the Care 2 Learn team would process the claim and get my payment schedule out to me.

Unfortunately, 4 weeks into the course/application/childcare we have had NOTHING. Very poor communication from them; contradicting information also. Naturally I am starting to become concerned about when I will get paid. 4 weeks of full-time childcare is now owed.

I am hoping someone might have experience to share? Thanks

Have you sent invoices for care used?

No invoices requested. We are still at the application stage. Each time application pack appears to be complete they inform us they are missing 'just one more piece of information'.

It saddens me that such a wonderful scheme could potentially put student parents off returning to study. Also, could put childcare providers off.

I keep being told 'ring back in a couple of days and maybe we will know a bit more'.

From previous experience they tend to pay a month in arrears and not pay out without having had invoices

Thank you 3pigs

I had the understanding that payments were in advance? I might give them a call again today. They have told me that Wednesday is payment day, so looks like I've missed this week too.
