Is it possible to hire a nanny for one day in London?

I have to work in London for a day soon and wondered if anyone had ever done this and hired a nanny for a day?
It will be a very long day (6.30am - 9.30pm)to go without feeding, even with a pump so all suggestions welcomed.
Thanks.

Yes most agencies will do this. I had to have some help for 2 days once as I was laid up. I used Tinies. There was a lovely woman called Ruth who sorted it all out for me. If you goggle Tines it should come up

Thanks Welshmum. Can you remember about how much it cost?
Am just negotiating an earlier finish though so may just do feeds at the train station and a pumping session at lunch!

You might also be able to find a childminder who would do this for less than a nanny agency -- probably a lot less.

Where in London is the job? And when?

Or you might go ask this question on nannyjob.co.uk. You may even find an applicant or two.

i'm a cm and i would do it if i lived in London
just wondered if its best to find a childcarer near home so you dont have to travel by train with your child/bags/prams

look at childrens information service for childminders in the areas you need

Thanks Uwila and DMO.
I do have childcare up north (DD1 in nursery and lots of family as well as DP!) but it was more about the logistics of bfing and also because DD2 is a real mummy's girl.
My new plan is to have DP and the girls take me to the station at 7am, feed on platform and then get the train back to arrive at the station for 6.30pm for another feed. Reckon this will be fine with just a lunchtime expressing session. I don't want to be leaking milk in front of clients. DD2 will just have to manage with a bottle or go hungry!
