What they ate, activities, things they do well, things they struggle with (i.e. particular homework subject) etc. How old is school age?

thanks for your reply. the children are 7 and 9.

So, your time with them probably focusses on homework? Do you have to do daily? As a parent, I would think weekly was enough at that age.

i only have them two evenings a week for about 2.5 hours - they don't bring there homework on the days i have them.

So, is it just me, or do you think the request is a bit odd?

Sounds a bit odd to me too!

My au-p only has the kids for 2-3 hours in the afternoons but I wouldn't ask her for a diary - just an update on how the afternoon went.

She is in charge of supervising homework but all I ask her to do is to check what she can and to leave all their work for me to check when I get in and to tell me if they had any problems with any of what they had to do.

There isn't a lot you can write in a diary for such a short space of time

Snap Cat - mine are the same age
