Childminder's First Aid kit

Just bought the HSE 10-person first aid kit and am feeling pretty chuffed. If you go to www.medisave.co.uk you can order the refill pack for £5.59 and free postage. Then get a plastic box for pence at Asda/ Tesco etc to keep it in. Cheaper than paying £7 for the kit including the box then paying £2.29 p&p.

Just thought this info might come in handy.

Sounds like a good deal. Just a point though I was told to take out all plasters from mine as they are not supposed to be used in case one of the children is allergic to them. Don't know if that advice has changed as I'm due to re-do my first aid course soon. Ditto with antiseptic wipes. It was plain cool water and gauze or nothing when I did my course.

yes I heard that no plasters and antiseptic wipes is recommended now...

thanks Chica for reminding me of my next task

ive just had a look. is that everything that is needed for a chidminder in there?

chicaguapa · 28/09/2006 13:59

Received it today. It even has a green cross First Aid sticker to put on the box! Really pleased with it. Brilliant value.

Think with the plasters issue is you have to have written confirmation from the parent to use them on their child. If you're aware of this regulation and have forms for parents to sign, I assume it's ok to have in the box.

Not sure about the wipes. Read somewhere they have to be alcohol free, which these are. Will find out on First Aid course I hope. If I eventually get on it!

Hiya

Great tip about the first aid kit from medisave. Thanks for that...but how do you get the free postage deal. I've just been onto the web site and seen the kit for £5.99 but you need to pay £2.49 postage. Just wondered if I'm missing something!

Thanks

lottiesmummy · 06/10/2006 18:21

you go thru as if you are buying and it gives you an option for postage, 2-7 days is free, £2.49 is next day

Hollylou · 06/10/2006 22:06

Have just been onto medisave website tonight and free postage option was there - it wasn't last night. So I've ordered!

Thank you again!
HL
