How much do you pay your live out nanny for three days per week?

I'm trying to weigh up childcare options for my two children (and becoming more and more depressed...)

I'd need someone 8-6 three days a week. SW London. Children will be 2.8 and 1.

Looking for advice on what a three day a week nanny actually costs you, so pay plus everything else you shell out eg expenses, activities, food etc. Thank you!

I have a fulltime nanny.

In terms of expenses, activities etc, she is not costing a great deal more than I was spending anyway - I have 2 dc at school, and one toddler at home. Toddler goes to swimming lessons (would have done so anyway) and a couple of toddler groups each week (wouldn't have done those, but probably would have done coffee/cake with a friend, so cost roughly equivalent).

Food - nanny has lunch here, and hot drinks/odd snack (we're not a snacking household, so not many of those - if the children are eating, she is welcome to have some also).

We pay around £12 hour gross. Have you seen mranchovy's tax calculator (google it) which tells you actual employer costs etc as well (based on variables you input)?

Work 50 hours a week. £10 gross an hour.

Thanks both of you. Anyone else? I'm really interested in the actual total cost including everything paid out that is nanny related. I'm concerned it'll all work out as very expensive when everything is factored in.

I would say £13 gross to nanny .Make it £15 gross in head and calculations to include insurance and activities. So £150 a day . £450 a week including all tax/ insurance/ most extras .

I do those hours but in SE. I get £10.50 gross ph.
Food: I take my own, the only thing I really have from work is yoghurt, fruit and a packet of crisps/salted popcorn occasionally!

I use their car so I don't know how much that costs them and I don't take my charges to activities but that is my employers choice and we have plenty to do at the house. In previous jobs I've done activities like gymnastics or softplay when the parents wanted me to do them and the prices vary. I spent a lot of time doing free things like libraries, the beach, places that their Merlin passes could get us into, etc. But mileage could come to quite a bit.

two days/21 hours per week, £10 per hour net, split tax code with another employer = approx £1200 per month plus mileage/expenses

I have a nanny in the home counties, 3 days per week but 1.5 hours per day longer than you are looking for. I pay £19k per annum which is about £10.60ph gross. Works out about £1710 per month including employer's NI. She uses our car so no real marginal cost there. I provide a kitty but she doesn't spend huge amounts, no more than about £20 a week and usually less. I pay termly for kids activities like ballet, gymnastics etc and for merlin passes. I don't spend much extra on food over and above what we eat.
