What's the nicest way to let your childminder know you're leaving?

Just that really, they're lovely but since we moved 20 miles away, it's become a bit impractical. Even though I still work near them, if I want a day off, I pay to look after DD rather than drive miles to drop her off. I want to ensure they aren't upset by it, I expect I will be a tad emotional myself! xx

Just be honest, and give her required notice! And then buy her a HUGE present! Grin

Try not to worry about telling them, they'll understand that it's not practical.

They might be sad not to have/see DD anymore - so if you think they will be, maybe try to arrange a way to stay in touch with them so they don't lose contact with her.

I'm not all about 'Big Presents' myself, I'd much rather just know I wasn't losing contact with her :)
