Childminder for school holidays only?

I wonder if anyone could help me, I'm a bit confused Confused

I'm a qualified nursery nurse and I only work term time, which is fab for me as I get to spend all the holidays with my DC.

I'm considering training as a childminder to help out a friend in the school holidays, just for 2 days a week. Her DS is 9.

I would only be looking after him and my own DC (10,9 & 3).

Would it just be the voluntary part of the childcare register I would need to sign up to as he is over 8, or would I also need to compulsory part as one of my DC is 3?

I have safeguarding, first aid and a nanny insurance policy through Morton Michael that I took out before I started work in the nursery, I'm guessing I could swap it over to a childminder one without any problems.

TIA Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Compulsory, that way you don't limit yourself either incase any siblings came along! I don't know how the registration process compares, but if you are qualified, and have insurance, it will be a relatively simple process for you to get on compulsory part. You will need another CV and you will have to fill out a medical declaration form, and get signed by your GP. I was charged for this, but costs vary dramatically!

Not CV, CRB**

Thank you for your help Smile

I have an enhanced DBS which was completed in April (paid the extra so it was a universal one), so I guess it would just be a medical?

Will speak with GP surgery tomorrow.
