Things like

Respect for each other - no hitting or being rude
No running & shouting
Nice table manners
Saying please & think you

I fail a bit on these as my word is law

I tell my (older) mindees that they don't come here to have fun. Does that count as a rule?? They think it's hilarious.

LMG's - sorry I didn't get round to replying to your MSN last night, just tried now but you're offline. I basically had a hectic evening and didn't see your message until 1am when I woke up after falling asleep on the sofa - AGAIN! Anyway, all I was going to do is send you a copy of my house rules but as your offline, have a look on my website and they are there amongst all my other policies and procedures.

Try and catch you later

When I was doing my Quality first we all reviewed our house rules and we were advised not to make them sound negative
eg instead of saying - No hitting or biting
we were advised to write it - we do not hit or bite

my rules (off the top of my head) are
We take out shoes off in the hall
We sit at the table to eat
We respect each other and other peoples property
We do not throw toys
We do not jump or climb on furniture
We sit down when using scissors, pencils etc
We treat each other as we would like to be treated
We do not call each other names or swear
We do not hit, bite, punch or push each other
We like to share
We help each other
We ask before going ouside or turning on the tv

if I think of any more will let you know (sorry having a 'blonde day' as my dh calls it)
