(sorry rant alert!)tell me the truth from the beginning?

To cut a very long story short my youngest is now in full time education and so frees up an under 5 place.

Last week I rang them to tell them this so that they can ammend my certificate, telling me that it will take a week to come and so then can use the space, fair enough I have a third child wanting a space last fri which I had to cancel as certificate wouldn't be through.

Anyway, fast forward 10 days, no sign of said certificate, so I ring to find out what has happened to it, to be told that a statement of intention should be with me the following day, (which it didn't)anyway lady I spoke to says that as long as it's signed and I have a photocopy then I will be able to have third child this fri, rings them again today to be told that I cannot have third child untill 14 days after the statement of intent was issued, which takes us nearly to october. So now I have to let yet another of my families down! totally p*ed off with this and could cry, if I'd been told this in the first place then the family involved could have had 12 days to find alternative care instead of the two I've now got to give them.{angry]

forward planning is needed

HenniPenni · 20/09/2006 13:39

I appreciate that forward planning is needed, just wish that they'd get their facts right in the first place! wish me luck, am going to ring the chosen family and break the good news!

good luck
feel sorry for you to let them down
you could care for him for no reward couldnt you till oct?

HenniPenni · 20/09/2006 13:58

I could care for him for no reward but boy is it a difficult mindee!! Have phoned parents who have been really good about it- I really do appreciate my parents, they're all lovely.

Have had ofsted on the phone telling me that I'd be breaking the law! which I know is true, but wouldn't dream of going over my numbers.Hve also complained about their communication too [shock}

thats true you would be over your numbers
well be happy if hes a diffcult mindee pay or no pay your rid
will have to advertise when your new certifcate comes

HenniPenni · 20/09/2006 14:08

Oh, i'm still keeping mindee, it's only this one day that I'm stuck- don't really like having more than two at a time but it works outsomething like once a fortnight that I have all three together. mindee is only little (under1) so still settling!

oh well if its just a baby
3 children is hard i prefer only 2 at a time but i took another child on from oct so will have 3 a day some days
wish more cm would set up near me there are so many children last week i had 12 phone calls in 1 day
we did have a lovely group of about 8 cm around here but for one reason and another there are now 3 and 1 is giving up at christmas

HenniPenni · 20/09/2006 14:22

Crikey, I wish I live near you, 12 calls in one day, I don't think that I've had 12 calls in three years

Been to minding group this morning, there must have been 30 children and at least 15 minders there!

One mindee just this minute gone home (always asleep when parent arrives!) and other is fast asleep too...ah bliss!

HenniPenni · 20/09/2006 14:31

Don't want mindee to wake, have paperwork and incident/accident report to do

I was told by ofsted that any information relayed to them that would mean ammending your certificate can not be done over the phone cos they must have your signature (emails not accepted either unless scanned to include your signature), faxes are ok. I was only told this after speaking to 3 different people at ofsted (only telling them I no longer needed my variation).
I, like you have no problem with sending the info, just wish they would be consistant.

Feelingold, thats the thing that I forgot to add, finally got the notice of intent faxed to DHs office this morning-(after lots of argybargy an toing and frowing) had been told on tuesday that as long as I had signed it and kept a photocopy for myself then I would have been ok to have the third child on Fri. Then to be told differently today!
