Sorry if this is a duplicate post but I'm sure I asked the question but now cannot find it, and have no record of ever registering on this site, very weird...
Anyway this is my question.
I am due to have a hip operation soon. I won't be physically able to lift my 1 yo son or fit enough to walk to school to pick up my daughter. My mum and sister are willing to help me out. Mum will cut down her work hours and my student sister will delay getting a job. I don't want either of them to be out of pocket. Will it be legally problematic for them if I give them some money to prevent them being out of pocket and help my sister pay her rent? And what should I give them? I will be present at home with them so I will probably do things like helping daughter with homework, reading to them etc. I'm not really sure how able I will be especially at first. I'm in Scotland btw. I don't want to be mean but I don't want to give them silly amounts either as we have no income. Any tips on how to get mum to take the money would be good too...Wink

No idea on legal side. Surely you can just give them gift eg money cos you love them.
