Car insurance for aupair

I am about to get an aupair for the 1st time as my kids are 6. &9 in full time school. I am interviewing a couple of 19-20 yr olds but checking out car insurance I'm getting quotes ranging from 1800 to 3000. Does any one know any good insurance company I can use to get reasonable quotes
Thanks in advance

I went for a 25year old to make sure car insurance was reasonable I'm afraid.

Admiral was okay as long as they were over 22 and had been driving for at least 3 years. I would just that you need someone over 22 in your profile.

Thank you

That's crazy. We paid an extra £30 PCM with Direct Lind to insure out 23 year old au pair to drive a Mini One. Our next au pair is only 18 and will be more, haven't dared find out how much yet!

have you offered her the job? that's brave to take someone on without knowing what it will cost you!

I ended up going with a 25 year old. the 20 year old was great but the best i got was 1800 in insurance but maybe that was due to the size of the car she would be driving . A smaller car is always cheaper

Well if the worst comes to the worst she will have to walk DD to school!

Smaller car isn't always cheaper. It depends on too many factors.

It cost me more than twice as much to insure a ford ka than a turbo diesel focus that's double the size and power.

Try using a broker to shop around for lowest quote for you. Try requesting a high voluntary excess, so in the event of a claim you pay out a lot more of the amount.

Not going to be low cost to get a young driver insured, so the older they are the better.
