I recently posted on childcare.co .uk looking for after school nanny for my two autistic children. I messaged a nanny asking if she was interested in my vacancy. The reply said that I should consider getting a young live in nanny so my children could bond with her. I was pretty pissed off with this because surely if I had the money and space I would obviously prefer to have a full time live in nanny?? The fact that I am looking for an after school nanny makes it pretty clear that like most mums I am looking for childcare and am on a budget, so don't really have the luxury of finding a live in nanny for my children to bond with! Maybe I am being over sensitive, but am stressed out trying to earn money and care for two disabled children and feel judged by a stranger for not having the money for a full time nanny. Aibu?

I don't think (without seeing the exchanges) that she was judging you, more making a suggestion (presumably based on her professional opinion) on what might be the best option for you and your children

It's a bit off of her, a young live-in nanny? Does she not think that nannies can bond with children if only in after school jobs? Or if they're older? Confused

She wasn't to know you don't have the money for a live-in Confused She probably just wasn't interested in the job but wanted to reply with a suggestion.
