Question about nanny service

Having failed to find suitable childcare for my school aged son, I've realised that what I am probably after is a nanny. But I only really need them for the school holiday periods.

What are the chances that I will be able to find someone who wants to do this?

Is he old enough for any sports type camps?

Or you could maybe consider a mummy nanny type arrangement? I know some SAHMs including ex-nannies who'd love to get some extra cash with some weeks at half term and maybe some of the school holidays (though probably not all), but without the full on commitment of permanent nannying. Similarly, I know of families where two sets of mums/dads take turns taking weeks off, and look after both sets of kids at a time IYSWIM?

Or you could speak with local nanny groups or childminders to pick up weeks here and there where children are being taken away for family holidays and there are empty spaces.

Also forgot to mention uni students, especially in the long holidays.

Some nannies work term time only, so may want to do some work in school holidays.

Students may be looking for uni holiday work. Summer may be trickier and students less likely to stay near uni, many will go home to family.

May suit a local parent with a younger child.

May suit someone working in a school, such as a TA.

So it may be possible. Advertise locally anywhere you think such people may look for jobs, local newsagents, village shop, community magazine, local paper.
