I have a nanny and we have survived the first week!

Thanks to these threads and the wonderful people who post, you made it all possible!

I have a 3 yo dd and b/g twins who are 14 months and it worked out the same costs as nursery. We get a little a help from the childcare element of working tax credits but I would never have known if it wasn't for Mumsnet and you lovely people.

I got great ideas for interview questions from lurking, and potential pitfalls to avoid when calculating the true cost from when I posted like employers NI, heating, petty cash and food (who realised how much those extra meals and snacks add up to!)

The nanny is fab with a real can-do attitude and the children have taken to her really well.

No more struggling to get 3 dc to nursery or picking up tired emotional babies and battling 3 of them in and out of the car!

I know its early days yet but I'm really happy!

Thats great :)

Remember the key to a good relationship is to communicate and thank your nanny for her hardwork occassionally.

I am in a new job - where we do ; and it is so much better than second guessing a boss and feeling under appreciated

Its also lovely to hear a thank you - when you know you've worked hard - yet the boss isn't aware as the house is in the same state as they left it despite you knowing that 10 minutes earlier it was a disaster area Grin.
