Can I just check that I've got the following correct?

Folder 1-
Daily Attendance Record
Emergency Contact Numbers
Accident Reports
Incident Reports
Complaints Records
Contracts
Fire Procedure & Drill records
Copy of Policies & Procedures (signed by parents)

Folder 2-
Confidential Child Records

Folder 3-
Policies & Procedures (to give to parents)

Have I missed anything? Or got anything wrong? I DO like to be super-organised when it comes to paperwork.

This is just for my suitable person visit, so don't have the certificates yet. I DID say I like to be organised. But start as I mean to go on...

Sorry, not food, safe and sound

here

Katymac · 15/09/2006 19:39

That's OK - I've got that one (& even managed to find space on the wall for it)

Amylouise · 15/09/2006 20:15

Do ofsted posters have to be displayed on the wall?

I don't have a seperate playroom for childminding and my husband would flip if I started putting ofsted posters up in the lounge or hallway!! He only just tolerates the toys taking over the lounge

Katymac · 15/09/2006 20:45

They should be

Why not try having a board with them on & you can slide it down the back of the settee when you aren't minding

Your insurance & Reg cert must be displayed too

mumlove · 15/09/2006 20:48

Amylouise - my husbands the same, so I have been putting them into a folder to show the parents & if they are A4 size I photocopy them and give it to the parents. When ofsted next visit me I shall find out what they think of it, but they will not be going up on my walls.

ThePrisoner · 16/09/2006 01:36

I don't think Ofsted will be OK with a folder to show - they were, but not any more!

I also have a noticeboard the size of Texas - it sits on a radiator in my lounge, and can be hidden behind the settee on Friday nights. I have all the necessary certificates on it, plus a weekly plan, recent photos etc.

Katymac · 16/09/2006 07:45

I agree with ThePrisoner it actually says on the cert that your condition of registration is that you display ther cert

OFSTED are quite antsey about it and it has been mentioned in the NCMA magazine etc

The complaints poster has to be up too - my inspectore spent a few minutes looking for it before asking me (I couldn't remember where it was - but we found it on the wall eventually)

alibubbles · 16/09/2006 08:33

Mine are on two very large felt boards from Homebase. They are in th laundry room now! They'll come out on Monday again for Quality assurance verification!

ayla99 · 16/09/2006 09:51

i believe the requirement is that it must be on display during childminding hours. So you can blu tac it to the wall and take it down when you're not working if you want.

Or put a picture hook in your hall way and put your framed certificate up when you're minding and swap it for a nice picture when you're closed.

At my recent inspection she saw my certificate in a folder and said "you do realise this needs to be on a wall now". I was able to point out my variation certificate was on the wall right behind her.

alibubbles · 16/09/2006 10:43

Wow! I got my report this morning, fours days fater inspection. I can't find it on the internet yet, but will post a link when it is there.

mumlove · 16/09/2006 15:57

Yes I have my certificate and insurance up on the wall, but thats all.

ThePrisoner · 16/09/2006 20:42

Do you think an Ofsted inspector would find it amusing if I hung all my necessary documentation in the downstairs loo? I am so tempted sometimes!

mumlove · 16/09/2006 21:28

Good idea, my husband just might agree to that!

and I always show parents the downstairs loo.
