How many hours could I potentially get with a childminder

I've just realised I can apply for a govt grant for an ofsted registered childminder : up to £150.23 a week for 1 child.

I was wondering how many days or hours that could get me in London (if that makes a difference)

Any advice or info would be very helpful.

Thinking ds would need 8-5ish

20 maybe more. Contact Family Information Service (borough council probably) for a list of registered childminders and contact those near you to ask about fees and availability.

20 hours at 6 an hour is 120 a week. So if fees area bit more than that you may get about that number of hours.

Is the funding all year round? If it is only term time that will make a difference.

No it will be term time. I never thought of that. It's while I'm at university doing a pgce

That will make it harder as it is common to pay a retainer for periods when not using service. Ask local childminders, factor in total cost over year.

Thanks for that. I'll give the services a call

For term time only that would cover 3 days with me. I'm in N London.
