I love being a nanny.

I have been nannying now for just under 2 years. I am a late starter, I had a previous career in teaching. I have become aware of all the possibilities that are open to a 'professional' nanny. I have a career plan to become employed by an international family in September 2015.
I have just started my second post with a baby with specific medical needs. This is all part of my plan to become a desirable employee for my next family.
I just wondered what plans other nannies had and what they had done to succeed in their careers.

I plan to win the lottery and retire. Hey, I can dream!

I love being a nanny. I look after some beautiful children. We have fun exploring themes and being creative.
No career plans as semi retired. I wanted to do a job which I would enjoy each day. For me not a lot of pressure as have raised my own family so very experienced.

I had a plan when I started nannying, which was to be working the high profile/VIP end by this year. I got that job this year with a lovely family.

Now I'm seeing the world, travelling business class, and saving like a maniac. I have vowed that my next job will be with a "normal" family though ;)

I love being a nanny too :)
With the weather like it is, it has to be the best job around!
Not sure what my plan for the future is though. I have just started with a new family and I love them. My plan so far is to stay with them until they have to throw me out of the door because the children have grown up and left home ;)

I loge nannying too, it's great :) My current three charges are really cool and my family make me feel like part of the family, which is very nice.

I didn't really have a plan. I fell into SEN nannying (with children on the autism spectrum) by accident and got work through that, but now I'm going down to one part time job instead of juggling two and I'm a nanny/housekeeper, which I really enjoy. I'm hoping that they keep me on until the youngest goes to school, but she'll be starting nursery in September 2015 so I have no clue what will happen at the moment!

I'll be giving it up when I have more than one child though (I have none currently), I can't justify caring for somebody elses children when the additional household income I'd be bringing in would just cover childcare for my own kids Sad

I love nannying and have been doing it on and off for 15yrs in between some crap nursery jobs. Nannying has let me spend time with ds 12 as I get to bring him with me in hols and I'm currently pg with number 2. I have agreed with boss that I'll take 2 months off then come back to work bringing baby with me.
I love this time of year when we can spend all day outside with picnics in the park or go to the beach.
Not got any long term plans and I do worry what I'll do in 10yrs time.

Another one here who loves being a nanny. I have done it on and off for 30+ years in between childrens nursing and childminding. I spent a year with a diplomatic family in South America and a year in Athens. I actually turned down a high flying/travel job about 6 years ago as my youngest DC was too young for me to leave. My DH said go for it but it wasn't for me. I too am nanny/housekeeper and do (within reason) anything to make MB life easier. I get my baby fix and love my present charges. Due to start a new job with a baby so very excited!!
