Sickness pay confused help!

Hi I get 3 days a year paid sick I have taken them all due to my kids being ill and on e for a stomach bug. I work 42 weeks per year and this is paid over 12 months. I'm not well at all so likely I will need tomorrow off! So as I've used all my sick I won't be paid. So will I have a whole days pay deducted straight off or should less be taken off due to the fact it's spread over 12 months ifyswim? Sorry if confusing!

Do you have a hourly rate, day rate, or just an annual salary mentioned in the contract?

Would have thought that a day sick would be allocated the number of hours for that working day, so having that number of hours deducted from the current months pay. Total hours paid in the year then remains right.
Not sure how a payroll company would do it, ask your employer how they plan to deal with it.

It's likely you'll not get paid for that day. You could ask to take a day's holiday - although your employers don't have agree to that.

Your employer isn't usually obliged to give you paid time off to look after your children when they're sick, but you can take annual leave.
It may be better next year to take annual leave when your children are sick and retain the sick leave for if you are. I can't link the page, but its all on the government website.

Incidentally, I've never paid sick pay to my nannies (above SSP) at all.

I think you will lose a days pay. That's how it works in companies.
You are very lucky to have paid sick leave
