Do I need to renew insurance policy whilst taking a break from childminding but staying Ofsted registered?

I am temporarily stopping childminding for family reasons but am going to renew Ofsted registration so I can return to it with ease when the time is right.

Do I need to fork out on insurance renewal too when I have no children on roll at all?

TIA

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No.
I kept up my registration when on maternity leave but refunded the remaining time on insurance. Then took out a new policy starting on the day I started childminding again. Nothing to insure against if no one in your care.

Yes you do need to keep your Public Liability Insurance current if you remain Ofsted Registered as it is a requirement of your Registration. It doesn't matter that you are not looking after children.

Sorry to hijack!
What about First Aid, Food Safety and Safeguarding?
I'm quitting in 2 weeks, but I'm toying with the idea of keeping Ofsted reg going, so if by some miracle I change my mind I don't have to reregister.
I'd love to rip it into a million pieces but you never know what's around the corner.

I would keep it going, otherwise if you decide to start up, you have to reregister from scratch

When I moved house and stopped childminding for about 6 months I was told that I should keep my insurance and first aid valid as those are a legal requirement. Ofsted could come and inspect even when no children are on roll and you would get an immediate inadequate. Food safety and safeguarding are not a legal requirement.
