I am running out of ideas for my 4year old and 8 month old lunch and dinners. Need help! Nutritious food for a fussy lot that my nanny can cook during the day.

as above, I also often give the kids left overs from the previous night with something new mixed in.
why are you planning meals for your nanny to make though?
I am a nanny and plan what the kids will eat myself.

Miss Could be meal planning? My boss meal plans to a certain extent, I follow it, saves on waste.

My charges lunches usually consist of bits and pieces from the fridge, she likes feeding herself so we try to keep her lunch grab-able!

Fish & chips with peas (homemade fish fingers?)
Homemade burgers
Pasta salad (without sauce it's a good one for toddlers to feed themselves)
Sausage casserole
Filled pasta

Snacky/parts of meals:
Boiled eggs
Egg sandwiches
Chicken skewers

sorry I didnt mean for that to come accross in the way it might have, just was generally wondering.
my boss does all her meal plan and says pls dont use xyz and I usually make up meals/lunches with what is available.

PixieofCatan · 25/06/2014 20:47

Yeah, mine does that too :) A previous boss didn't, and I used a really expensive piece of steak for the kids dinner one day, Dadboss was unimpressed that I'd served the kids his nice dinner Blush I'm a vegetarian and had no clue that it was an expensive piece just by the name of it! Blush

This time of year we have a lot of DIY meals. Various bowls on the table with things in, many cold such as hard boiled egg, cheese cubes, cucumber, carrot, grapes, apple, banana, left over cold meat, tuna. That will be combined in anyway the children like with rice, pasta, tortia wrap, bread.

This time of year they seem to eat less and want cold light food, rather than hot heavy things.

Scrambled egg on toast with peas/sweetcorn can go down well sometimes. Fish finger/sausage peas/sweetcorn with chips.

Cold custard, warm custard, cold rice pudding, jelly, icecream, cakes, biscuits.
