Cm near work or near home?

Cams near my work are cheaper, but would mean an hour a day in the car for my 10 month old, this seems to much. Any other pros and cons you have found to near work or home? Thanks!

if you're ill and decide to stay at home you can still use near home childminder to give you a bit of a break ...

Yes, near home. A God send if you're poorly and means kids aren't stuck in the car all day. They will also meet and mix with other kids they might end up at school with.

Are you stuck in traffic often?
Do you have someone who can get to a cms near your home quickly in an emergency?
Where are you planning to send your wee one to preschool nursery?
If your off work and cm is near work it might be a lot of hassle to send her to cm or preschool if its near her.
Does your wee one get bored in the car or are they happy to sit?
If your cm is near home it means you can nip to shops/dentist/ have ten minutes peace on way there before pickup.
have you checked how much it costs overall per month in both areas? Not just hourly rate but whats included in fees eg food/ outibgs/ nappies. Do they charge for holidays/sickness.

Always near home

Think about the long term. Do you plan on still using childcare when your little one be starts nursery/school? If you do, then home would be best as the childminder close to home would (hopefully) be able to carry on providing care for your little one.
