Are you a nanny with children of your own?

I'm fairly new to nannying and I'm not planning to start a family of my own for a good few years yet.
However I was thinking about when I start to have my own children, I doubt I'd be keen to put my child into a childminder/nursery and then go to work caring for someone else's child instead of my own! I know some nannies take their children to work with them, but I was curious about what everyone else does?

Are there any nannies out there that work and put their own children in some sort of other childcare? Or do most end up having a career change.. change to a childminder or something totally different!?

You will probably find a post 'nanny with own child' don't worry about it now. Some nannies take maternity leave and go back with baby to same work.

The nannies that I know who have their own children either work as NWOC, change to childminding or leave them with parents/partner.

I don't know any nanny who leaves their child at nursery/with a childminder.

My 2 children are grown up now but with my first I had a nanny position where she came with me - worked really well, I was with the family for 3 years and the girls were like sisters. Both mb and I fell pregnant at the same time with our second children Smile
When my 2nd was a year old I worked part time in a creche for a year and he went to a childminder. He was a clingy baby and I didn't feel the time was right to become a childminder and introduce other children. It was a very positive experience and the childminder was great and really helped my little boys confidence to grow. When I felt it was right for him I became a childminder myself and did that for nearly 12 years. I stopped because of Ofsted and the paperwork and wanting to get my home back to normal without all the baby paraphernalia. My son was now old enough that he didn't need me around after school as he was often at clubs/friends/playing golf so I went back to nannying.

Some friends take child with them. Some leave with GPS - some with cm and one puts in nursery
