Insurance for a one-off creche

My co-childminder and l have been asked to run the creche for a local organisation's AGM.

The venue's already Ofsted approved and we have enough assistants for the expected number of children.

Our problem is insurance. PACEY can't help because the children aren't our usual mindees, and Morton Michel no longer do insurance for one-off creches.

Does anyone know of a company that might offer such insurance?

Pre-school learning alliance/Royal & Sun Alliance perhaps worth a call. Though as a member organisation you may need to have membership and the mobile creche insurance may be for more than one occasion. Who does PACEY currently use, isn't that also R&S Alliance?

Thanks, nannynick; it's worth giving PLA a try, I'll do that today.

You're probably right though, about the any insurance offered being for a longer period. MM now give cover for a minimum of a year; not worth it for us, as we don't know whether we'll be wanting to take this any further after this one occasion.

Could you advertise as childcare provided by local registered child minders or something similar and not advertise as a crèche . That way you could technically still be childminding as long as each of you stays within your normal ratios . As obviously child minders can occasionally have children as a one off
