Hi, any help would be appreciated! I have two children, 9 and 5 and need a childminder two days a week from 7:15 to 16:00. Could anyone give me an approximate for these days, would ideally like the CM to provide breakfast and dinner. Thanks in advance!

I would charge £6 each for the morning and £7 each for the afternoon.

I wouldn't provide dinner for a 4pm pick up though - we'd only just have got in from school!

ElectricalBanana · 12/05/2014 20:10

I charge £4 an hour per child whatever hours you need.

AMI88 · 12/05/2014 20:10

I charge £5 per hour- I don't provide breakfast, as I start at 8.30, but may consider pre 8am for extra fee, maybe £6per/hour until 8am. I provide lunch about 12ish and eve meal about 5.15. Snack at about 2.30 x

angelcake03 · 12/05/2014 20:30

Should have clarified, the two full days and lunch would be in school holidays, but thanks for letting me know the costs for before and after school, that gives me a better idea for term time, and if anyone could give me an approximate cost for holidays, I'd be grateful, thanks.

I charge £42 per day in the south east.

AMI88 · 12/05/2014 20:37

angelcake- my fees stay the same all year round, for all ages, so whether you are 1 or 10 I charge same per hour. (£5) If I am looking after siblings/twins I charge £8.50 p/h for the both of them!

angelcake03 · 12/05/2014 21:20

Thanks so much, that's great information, though I have to say I do think CM' s are underpaid for all they do with our children. Will now start the task of looking for a CM locally. Thanks.

I pay £6 ph for mine per child.

PhoebeMcPeePee · 13/05/2014 00:17

I charge £6/hr although have a set holiday rate with school age children of £45 8-5pm

busyDays · 13/05/2014 13:53

I would charge £50 a day per child for those hours. That would include breakfast, lunch (most likely sandwiches) and a couple of snacks. We only eat dinner at 6pm so it wouldn't be included. I'm in the south east.

almaradlu · 13/05/2014 14:59

With me it would be around £35 per child per day. With breakfast, lunch ( packed lunch or maybe a meal out if we are out on a trip) and am/pm snacks. Any trips that I run are included in the fees.

£50 a day per child?! That's not much less than a nanny. Worth looking for a nanny share OP.

Do parents generally provide a packed lunch then. I'd have thought a childminder would provide dinner as standard though maybe not breakfast or tea.

Mine only ever went to nursery. No breakfast but mid morning snack around 10am, dinner at 12 then afternoon snack at 3.30pm

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 19/05/2014 18:02

North east - £4 ph. Includes all meals and snacks. Send own nappies and wipes. Food served at 8,12 & 4, so if likely to be a 4pm pick up our CM offers a brew while you wait for the LO to finish, and does a bit of a debrief.

BobTheFly · 19/05/2014 18:06

Maybe a language mix up here. Dinner to me is an evening meal and we have it at 5pm. The OP was asking for 5&9 yr olds so I assumed st school all day. Lunch would be provided if here all day in the holidays.

Picturesinthefirelight · 19/05/2014 18:08

Ah -I'm in the common midlands /northwest!

Dinner happens at 12-1pm & tea from 5-7pm ish for us.

BobTheFly · 19/05/2014 18:28

Haha I'm in Windsor in the South East. Other end of the country.
