Does childcare exist to cover taking to school, pick up and school holidays only?

Just that really. I'm in a real position in that I'm considering a school for my DS but it's in another town in the opposite direction from my work. The after school club only covers until 4.45pm and I do not have any support from family etc to cover holidays. Do childminders/ nannies offer this service?

Am sure you could find a childminder or au pair for this.

Or consider the 2 things seperayely by employing a childminder for school runs etc and looking at holiday clubs possibly run at/by the school during school holidays.

Yes, I am a childminder and I am currently caring for a child after school and during the school holidays :D . Currently no before school children as our school has a free breakfast club but I do offer the service for before school.

Have a look on your family information service for your area. On ours they have a search for childcare linked to each school in our area.

Thanks Secret. Not sure where to start looking. There are no holiday clubs I'm aware of. As the school is in the next town I'd need someone with a car for the drop off and pick up. I'd need 4 days per week then the holiday cover as well.

I'm a nanny who happily does this kind of work. We are out there! However it does seem that we are in the minority, and I am lucky to have another (very flexible) income stream which requires my time whilst the children are in school. It also helps that I far prefer working with school aged children, and I know there are a few nannies like me out there.

Thanks, I will check out FIS

Yes this cover is very common around here. It's called 'out of school clubs' Run independently and sometimes in conjunction with the council on nursery type premises. Only run 8am to 6pm though.

8am - 6pm would be fine for me will look again and see what I can find
