How do I find a reliable Au Apir?

I need an Au Pair! That's it really. How do I go about finding a reliable au pair from my DS? I would prefer someone who is mature in age and who can drive.

Do I start googling for this or can anyone recommend an agency? Plus, what is the going rate for an Au Pair?

Many thanks.

I would reccomend an Agency, I would say that, as I own one! Genuinely when I try and find au pairs on the internet, they always seem to be really flakey and unreliable, and the families I work with feel the same way. Look at the BAPAA website for reccomended Agents and the 'pay' is slightly determined by the families and Au pairs, but generally you're looking at 25 hours - £75 up to 30 hours for £85 including 2 nights a week babysitting.

Hope this helps!

I am finding the usual web sites hopeless at the moment but, last time I used an agency it was so expensive. Same cost as recruiting a nanny, paid extra for someone to commit to 12 months. She resigned after 4 months and I got nothing back and no discount offered!

Bumbled I am genuinely interested in what you think is a reasonable fee and how long you think it would take to find someone - good English 22+ driver in home counties not London. I pay £80.
