What does an AP from an EU country need to access free NHS in UK?

Hi, this is our first AP, although she's here for 6 weeks only, and as we knew her already we haven't gone through an agency. She's had a (non-AP) job in the UK for a few months and so no longer has her health insurance card from her own country. She's concerned she won't have access to the NHS for free when she comes to us.

I thought she would get access as an EU citizen as as a 'member of family' as an AP under EU law.

Also, does she need travel insurance? She's here for 6 weeks only, but in worse case scenario presumably she needs insurance to get home/be repatriated?

Hope someone can help. Thanks very much.

Access to the NHS is controlled by residence. If she has a bank account which shows your address it will be give.

Be fine even.

If she's only staying for six weeks then she's not entitled to nhs care and will be classed as a private patient as she is visting not a resident. Only emergency care is free for visitors.

Ginger she's already been in the country for a few months.

Sorry misread! Thought she had worked here previously and was coming back. In that case just take if and proof of address that shows been in uk and should be fine. Where I work we accept anything that has patients name and a uk address on it doesn't need to be current address

Thanks guys. She was working in the UK for 10 months, lost her job and we've asked her to come to us as an AP. She's been back to her country for less than a week and will come to us next week. Does anyone happen to know a link to the regulations? She's a bit anxious about it so I'd like to show her something official.

I thought eu citizens were entitled to emergency treatment with no minimum residence
