Looking for a Dunfermline childminder

I'm really unhappy with my son's nursery and would like to move him to a childminder. He was 3 in March and I am looking for a childminder near the school he will go to in a couple of years (St Leonards). Have looked on the Fife Childcare website but cant see any childminders near us. We don't have a car so would love to find a good childminder within walking distance!
HELP!!
p.s.looking for a place Mon - Wed for him.

Hello Motley1

I'm a journalist researching parent's experiences of nurseries - I wondered if you would be interested in talking a bit further about what you didn't like about your son's nursery ? My email is [email protected], if you would like to get in touch, I'd love to hear from you in complete confidence.
All the best
Julia Mackenzie

Great, more stories to give all Nurseries a bad name! Its funny how we only ever hear of bad nurseries and not good ones, and why should people get away with giving all the Nursery workers in a Nursery bad names if its only one or two of them!

Do parents really want to hear about all the horror stories, at the end of the day, their children have to be cared for by someone, wether its Nurseries or CM's or Nannies!so all they will do is worry even more!

No one ever writes about CM's either.Good or bad.
Sorrt motley, i'm in Fife, but not within walking distance

saltire · 15/08/2006 18:50

That should be sorry!

Motley1 · 16/08/2006 15:45

no thanks, apart from the fact that my DS is still at the nursery until I find an alternative it's a private matter between me and them. I'm sure there's lots of parents happy enough with them or they wouldn't have any customers at all.

iused to live in Fife and i found out about childminders by phoning the council, i know a great one in Markinch if thats any use

Motley1 · 16/08/2006 15:51

thanks nailpolish but Markinch is well out of our way. Think I may have found another nursery in the meantime. DS doesnt go to school for another 2 years so wouldnt mind trying him at another nursery if i cant find a childminder near us. He is really unsettled at his own nursery just now and his behaviour there reflects that. Cant do any more harm to try him somewhere else, can it (why is this parenting lark so hard sometimes!!???)
