Childminder's Club: The Future?

Childminder's seem to only get full time money from under 3's

This is because parents take advantage of the Gov funded nursery places and ask C/Mers to drop off & collect therefore we have children for less hours

Nurseries are struggling because the gov funding is not enough for a nursery place but they cannot charge top up fees

I think it is possible that Nurseries will not offer sessional care in the future - this wold mean that only under 3's will be minded as in order to get the gov funding you will have to have a F/T space

Obv this doesn't take into account accredited C/mers who are able to accept Gov vouchers

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

our pre-school charges top up's as vocuchers are only for 2 and half hours and sessions are for 3 hrs
full time nurserys here only discount the 2 and a half hours aswel but parents have to add to the extra 2 and a half hours per session

also as it was a low birth rate this year for 3/4yrs olds 2/3 yr olds were given vouchers

Ive just started up but Im starting to enquire about how to get accredited. One mindees mum wants her to stay with me but Im currently not accredited so she loses out financially.

I'm maybe being a bit dense here, but does this accreditation thing you are on about for vouchers apply to Scottish CM's as well? I asked my Care commission inspector a while ago and she said they knew nothing about it!

Ask NCMA (do they do Scotland too?)
