Has anyone had experience of using Kathryn Mewes's services? E.g. Sleep training their children?

No. Isn't she the 3 day nanny.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2014 20:02

a family i temped for recently, used her about a year ago - she apparently spoke a lot of sense and child started to sleep again (was 9mths)

she didnt arrive on a bike pmsl Grin

I know a family who used her for older children's behaviour issues. There was a change in the three days she was there but parents didn't keep up the strategies and the unpleasant habits returned.

Theres no magic solution other than patience and perseverance.

We're hoping to use her help with our 6 month twins. Willing to do whatever it takes to get a proper routine in place! We've gone it alone so far but it's so hard for me on my own during the day and then to get no sleep at night as well...

Have you thought about a night nanny squirrel to help advise you?

Many agencies local to you should be able to help

That's what I do

'Looks at peaceful sleeping 6week old bubs' :)

I agree with Blondes.

A specialist local nanny who works exclusively with babies is probably a much more immediate, convenient, and cost effective option.

Make sure they come with good references and a successful track record. I'm in SW London and there are a few around here with excellent reputations.

mrswishywashy · 06/01/2014 08:40

I also agree go local but choose carefully. Also from what I've heard from the people who've worked with her is she is quite arupt which doesn't suit everyone. Whoever you choose make sure they understand yours and your babies personalitys. Where abouts are you based and we could perhaps advice on either agencies or sleep specialists.

Squirrel27 · 06/01/2014 09:42

We're in South London. Any advice is welcome as I feel a bit lost really - can't even think straight! I'm not even sure that the girls can be 'better' right now as they are breast fed and tend to feed every 2 hours during the day and then up a couple of times in the night, but often at different times!

If you head to nappyvalleynet and search for night nannies/maternity sleep specialists you'll come up with a bunch of names and personal recommendations from other mums.

Good luck :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2014 11:12

I always advise feeding twins at the same time/30 mins staggered if can't tandem feed so you know where you are and also get a break Inbetween or else all you are doing is feeding non stop

You really need to get them into a good routine during the day and at 6nths they should be feeding easily every 4hrs - have you started weaning yet?

A good sleep/feed/awake time routine during the day would really help you and again a night nanny can advise you on that

Tbh I don't think you need her - just someone with lots of exp with new borns and babies and ideally with twin exp who can help you

mrswishywashy · 06/01/2014 12:41

I'm happy to do consultation. Home visit and email/phone consultation. Inbox me if you're interested I can send CV and references.

PaulaAtMummyKnowsBest · 06/01/2014 17:25

I do the same as blondes and either feed twins together or have a slight gap between them.

Who ever you choose, make sure that they are a good match for your style of parenting and check refs carefully.

I hope you find someone lovely to help you
