Nurseries, nannies and child minders used to be the main source of child care, what happened when an emergency occurred was very much take a day off or ask regular provider. Event childcare was unheard of. Has anyone accessed childcare for events or in an emergency and is it a service you would use.

I made some enquiries re emergency childcare (nanny)

Was prohibitively expensive so wouldn't use

Nurseries nannies and childminders still are the main source of childcare, along with preschools and creches Confused

Event childcare ain't new (presuming you mean creche for wedding guests' offspring? that kinda thing?) and emergency childcare for when a child is sick - well I can't think of any of my friends (fathers as well as mothers) who wouldn't take a day or two annual leave. Emergency childcare when the childminder is unexpectedly available, often another childminder known to the child/parents. Not sure about nannies, and group settings such as nurseries shut down fully but rarely.

Not really sure what you are looking for

Ad hoc care? yes there is a need for this, IIRC there are providers who do a first come first served type thing, more would be useful but what if the ad hoc provider has filled their spaces for that day?

Are you a provider looking for branching-out ideas? A worried parent exploring options? [nosy]

Both are pretty standard brings these days aren't they?

Looking for business advice, OP?
