Cos this is the first day of my maternity leave. And god do i need it.I am due next Sunday which makes me 39+1 today and i am bloody knackered.

I was meant to finish up on the 23rd June when our school broke up but problems for parents with alternative care meant i had to work till Friday.

Never mind that's me for 6 months. One of my parents asked if i would go back to work in Sept as her dd will be 1yr by then but i had to say no.Whats the point when i will get the same money for being off work with my lo's?

Anyway just wanted to shout it from the rooftops!!

here's hoping its not too hot this week - would say put your feet up but guess its better to keep moving and hope for an "on time" arrival

hope your house is brimming with pineapples and raspberry leaf tea

Enjoy yourself agalch, enjoy plenty of ice lollies and I agree with you about not going back in sept. Hope you get the home birth you want (I read your thread about being breech, think it was you).

Two weeks till my mat leave as I work termtime only, can't wait.

Good luck with the home birth

I am due mid sept, planning on going back to work first week in nov if all goes smoothly, I only work 3 hours a day, so should not be too bad.

How long have you taken off?

agalch · 18/07/2006 16:39

Puppy

Fingers crossed for my homrbirth,it's my 4th so should be ok.

Because i have dd already i will only be allowed 1 under 5 to care for which in Scotland works out for a full time space to be around 100/120 pounds per week.I pay my voluntary national insurance contributions so i will get 108 pounds per week for up to 6 months.I am planning to take the full time off as i get paid the same for working/not working.

Good luck to you and hope all goes well with your lo.
