My nanny is a French paediatric nurse. She is 27 years old and wonderful with children. She is working part-time for us and I am trying to help her find the perfect position to complement the hours with us.

She is looking after our 15 month old girl 12 h per week and she would like to find another position of 10-20 h.

I am flexible with the days as I am a full time mum.

Amelie is a great nanny and I loved the fact that she is a qualified nurse which is a prove of hard work, determination and a very sincere attitude toward her professional career. She has worked 2 years in a paediatric hospital in France. She also has a couple of years experience as a nanny and her references are excellent.

She is a very caring and kind person and very professional. I trust her 100%.

Please contact me should you require further information. Otherwise please email me about the position outlining the duties/ working hours/ pay etc.

Kind reagards,

A.

she should advertise herself on childcare.co.uk (unless you are advertising this as a nanny share??)

Gigondas · 05/12/2013 13:13

Also if she us looking for another job when not working for you,as an employer , I would be put off your involvement in her hunt unless it is a job share.
It is a separate job that you only need to know doesn't affect when she works for you and potentially if there is any tax code sharing.

As other poster has said, childcare.co.uk or nanny job.co.uk or even an agency might be better.

I am not sure if I understand what you mean GIGONDAS.....
No nanny share.

I was just wondering if there is a family in Kensington/Notting Hill or around who is looking for a French part-time nanny as I can only highly recommend the one I found as she is super qualified and would be excellent with as a maternity nurse or nanny for newborns....

Yes, I have recommended childcare.co.uk to her.... Thank you for the advise reetpetit

I agree with Gigondas - the nanny should do her own job searching. I think asking other employers to email you with details of salary etc is a little ott and might put other families off. It is a private arrangement between the family and the nanny.

It's fine to give her a nice review on childcare.co.uk or to give her a reference to show other families but I wouldn't over involve yourself.

Gigondas · 05/12/2013 16:26

Yep - reetpetit is expanding on what I meant. Giving a reference is fine. Suggesting places to look for nanny fine. Even getting her to post on mn with details of what job she is looking for ( tho I am not sure how much traffic you get here for such posts compared with dedicated sites).

Getting involved in more detailed negotiations is not appropriate -the job is an arrangement Between nanny and other employer.

I can see you are only bring helpful but it is not appropriate and off putting for employers.

Why is she no longer working as a nurse i am a children's nurse been qualified12yrs n still do part time nursing to keep my registration n night nanny part Time/ad hoc.

If she was dedicated to a profession of nursing why isn't she still doing it

that said i know alot children's nurses who nanny a yr or 2 after qualifying as its Mon - Fri hours n generally more family friendly n generally better pay.
