Hi,
I would like to start doing a Nwq. Could you advise me which one is better?
I am a nanny.
Thank you

To become what?

Only do qualifications listed by OfQual. There are various courses around, especially distance learning, which are NOT qualifications.

A few qualifications are coming up for expiry - see this PDF - so you may find those courses being offered, though personally I would avoid.

Instead look at the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (QCF)
Talk to course providers such as MNT about how you can do the course as a nanny.
Also talk to them about cost and any funding that may be available.

I am a nanny, 7 years experience, when I search for jobs most of the parents ask for qualifications. I want to do a nwq so I can find a job easier.
Apparently, the experience it isn't enough these days.
Thank you

The cypw is the only one worth doing these days, it replaced the nvqs. Mnt are great, I'm doing mine through them.

What is an nwq? NVQ perhaps you mean but even those are being phased out in terms of childcare qualifications.

Are parents perhaps wanting you to be Ofsted registered? Or are they actually saying they want you to have done a qualification they recognise... if so, what qualification?

There are so many qualifications out there which nannies have done over the years that I would wonder if parents looking for a nanny know about all of them. Maybe they what something of a certain standard, thus the Level 3 Diploma CYPW has been created, it's designed to be suitable for most, if not all, childcare workers - so means you could work in a nursery if so you wished.
