Willmost childminders take on a child for a very part time basis? I am looking for 8 hours per week.

From September, when my dd2 is one, I will be looking for a childminder to look after ther two mornings per week for 4 hours.

How likely is it that I will find a cm who is happy to take her on such a part time basis?

Also, when do you suggest I start looking?

Many thanks

I have had a few sign up for sept already. It's probably best to start looking soon.

I think you will find someone, I know a few childminders who have very part time children

Start looking now I think. I will depend on how old and what other children the childminder has. You might be lucky and find a childminder who has another PT child and it fits with them!

I can be flexible on the days, so hopefully I'll be able to fit into any free slots they have.

That would probably be something that will help you get the CM you want.

i would!

when we move i will have one girl in receprion so basically just drop off then after school, so a little one twice a week on morning would be fine with me..where are you???

Some will. I have one who looks after ds for 6 hours a week. She's studying and doesn't want full time kids.

Not that I'm really expecting you to be within a 5 mile radius of my house Evesmama What would be the chances.....

I had no problem finding a childminder to look after my ds for one morning a week, but I would start looking asap to make sure you find someone you are happy with, who can do the times you need. We were really happy with our choice.

OK - I'll get onto it tomorrow. I have a list of local childminders from the local council. I assume that is the way to go about it.
