Tell them the gross salary you are wanting. Explain how it is better for them to agree a gross salary as then they can calculate how much it will cost them.

Roughly I expect £500 gross per week is possible. Depends what they can afford, what you can afford to accept. £400-£600 gross per week is probably the range.

If really need Net then use www.mranchovy.com/calc/ selecting 2013/14 tax year and use 947L taxcode. Enter gross weekly salary and it will give Net.
However things will change in April, tax allowance goes up, so don't agree net pay, agree the gross figure.

Thank you

My last job was similar hours and I was on £350 net a week - should I aim for that or more?

If you have only 16months experience then I'd go for roughly the same salary you were on before, but as nannynick says make sure you agree gross.

Roughly the same, so £435 gross per week.
Cost to employer is around £475 a week (gross + Employers NI) plus the other costs.

From April 2014, personal allowance changes to £10,000 so with a Gross salary of £435 per week, I think you will take home an extra £2 per wek. Ok not a great amount but it is better than no increase at all which would be the case if you agreed a net pay figure.
