When children are at school full-time, I would only charge for the hours before and after school (and definitely not for the time that they are in school).

I am the emergency contact for all of my minded children who are at nursery/school. Parents will always be contacted first but, like nzshar, many of them do not work locally.

Although I have policies in place re. sickness, I am not so hard-hearted that I would leave an unwell child at school for several hours waiting for a parent. All of my minded children have been in contact with each other on a daily basis anyway, so they may well have "shared germs" already!!

All my minding parents know that I would collect unwell children and care for them until someone else is able to get them. They are all happy for me to do this.

Our local primary school starts the whole reception for mornings only. So the 4 years olds don't count as over 5s until the half term when they do 10 sessions a week.

So I charge for the whole day for the first half term, while they count as younger children. Once they are attending full time I charge session rates for breakfast club or after school care.

I disagree happymum - I've come across many different ways - guess it depends where you live. My nephew's school does mornings for the first week and afternoons for the second week. On the third week he will start full time.

yes, he know i have to move before we can do anything.
they have CM at minute but she said she wanted to stop minding when she went to reception as too much work (rather not as much money me thinks!)
so im sure shell hang on with her until i get reg, but everything just seems to be on the go slow!
