Is she going half days....if so you will prob have to charge a full day's minding

If she is attending full days then you can only really charge before and after

EvesMama · 01/07/2006 22:22

shell be going full time in sept..but my thinking is..how would i get a say 10-2 child to fill the space between me dropping her off and picking her up???

will have to ask current Cm see what she does?

If she is a reception child attending 10 sessions (ie am & pm, M-F) then she should count as a rising 5 (she maybe 4 but counts as 5) - so shouldn't count owards your under 5 ratio......she will be in your 5 - 8 numbers

Does that make sense?

ThePrisoner · 02/07/2006 09:59

The primary school I collect from starts them off doing half days in the reception class, and they start school once they are four! They obviously don't count in the 5-8 bracket as they are not doing 10 sessions (ie. morning and afternoon).

I only charge for the time that I have the children, not for the whole day.

EvesMama · 02/07/2006 19:10

she is 5 1/2 days with dd at minute, but in sept she will be both morn and afternoon.
i think shell be around 4 and 9 months as thats the way it seems to work at this school..not to botherd about ratios at minute as she'll be my first and only(at minute) mindee, just wether too or what to charge?
think i need a specific thread title?

As a mum I am charged for approx 1 hour before school, sometimes it is only really 1/2 hr but I know the CM stays until the final bell has gone. After school I pay for 3 hrs, plus supper.

I would not expect to pay during teh day UNLESS I paid the CM to be emergency contact if something happened and then she would pick up. ATM if my kids are ill I am the emergency contact so it doesn't apply.

EvesMama · 03/07/2006 15:30

so do you pay her extra for dinner/supper?

OP posts:
crunchie · 03/07/2006 15:46

Yes I pay 30p if I want breakfast. £1.20 or £1.50 (not sure) for supper and I think 75p for lunch (in school holidays). However my CM charges less than you per hour. I think I pay about £2.40, and 2nd child is about £1.50. I can't quite remember as DH pays the bill. All I know is 5 days a week after school inc dinner for 2 kids is about £75, and before school is £23.40 for 2 kids inc breakfast!!

HTH, bear in mind in holidays/half-terms/inset days etc you will get full days paid for unless teh parents take the time off.

EvesMama · 05/07/2006 15:00

ok so even if the children are with you full time at say £.00 per hour, do you still charge extra for any meals???

so glad i posted this, im learning alsorts!
