I am sure this has been mentioned before - but any recomendations for the nanny payroll type companies - I know at one end of the scale there is the nanny tax at £250 a year, then PAYE for nannies at £135.

What is the difference and is the extra £115 justafiable?

My bosses have just switched from Nannytax to Nannypaye and we haven't had a problem at all but to be honest i don't know if they get a different service. I'm sure theres a way to claim back money if you put in your tax return online but don't know how you go about it sorry. I think it's £250 but don't quote me on that

You will still get the money back if you use an agency as they file on-line for you. It is a 3-year incentive payment from the IR to encourage filing on-line. I know the first year is 250 pounds, I am waiting for this year's payment but know it is less (150 maybe?) and next year less again. Certainly better than nothing! I have just changed from Nanny Tax to Nanny Pay, the former was fine last year but I have a very striaghtforward nanny arrangement and am sure that any agency can cope with my requirements so I'm really just looking to save money.

We have started using NannyPaye, who seem really good.

We use nannypaye - no real problems, but they were quite late with the May payslip (I expected this was due to them needing to submit all the tax returns by end of April).
It seems a bit of a one-man-band (although I may be mistaken) - we always speak to the same chap when we ring (we have a complicated nannyshare and have had lots of salary changes so have spoken to them a few times) - one the good side it means that he knows us and our situation quite well, but on the down side I worry about what might happen if the number of clients rapidly increases.
I have a friend who was using nannytax until this year, and for unspecified 'problems' with them, has now switched to nannypaye.
